Friday, August 21st marked a very special milestone for us as we celebrated 40 years of trading with a fantastic anniversary event at our head office in Kilby Bridge.
The afternoon brought together more than 150 driving instructors, industry partners, vehicle manufacturers and members of our team for an afternoon packed with great food, live entertainment, prizes and plenty of opportunities to catch up with friends and colleagues from across the driving industry.
Reaching 40 years in business is a huge achievement, and we wanted to mark the occasion by bringing together the people who have played such an important role throughout our journey. It was fantastic to see so many familiar faces, as well as meet new people and strengthen the relationships that continue to make our industry such a great community.
We were delighted to welcome a fantastic selection of industry partners to the event, including the MSA, Acclaim Driving School, Hughes Driver Training, FBTC Accountancy, Backstage ADI Solutions, Green Penny, Mobility in Motion, Intelligent Instructor and Dash Claims.
Our manufacturer partners were also out in force, with stands representing Ford, Toyota, Lexus, BYD, Kia, Hyundai and the Volkswagen Group. Their presence gave instructors the chance to take a closer look at some of the latest vehicles, products and services available to the driving school industry, while also providing plenty of opportunities to chat with representatives and find out more about what’s new.
Of course, no anniversary celebration would be complete without plenty of food and refreshments. Guests were treated to a delicious hog roast and freshly made pizzas, alongside a fully stocked bar. Everyone attending also received a special anniversary goodie bag, packed with gifts to take home as a reminder of the day.
The entertainment got underway from 3.30pm, with live music from Dan Butterworth, who provided the perfect soundtrack as guests enjoyed the afternoon. Later, 2HD took to the stage with an energetic performance that kept everyone entertained and the celebrations going until 8pm.
Another highlight of the afternoon was our anniversary raffle. With a brand new car up for grabs, there was plenty of excitement as everyone waited for the winning ticket to be selected. At 4pm, a random number generator was used to choose the lucky winner, with ticket CAC2155 coming out on top.
The winning ticket belonged to Jamie Wesson of Parrot Blue Driving School, who was thrilled with the result.
Reflecting on the event afterwards, Jamie said:
“Thank you so much for today. I’ve had the same experience again with all of my family being in absolute shock! Big thank you to the whole team for making it possible.”
The anniversary event was a brilliant way to celebrate four decades of trading and, most importantly, to recognise the instructors, partners, manufacturers, customers and team members who have helped make the journey possible.
